About the Koenigsegg Agera RS
While the original Agera established Koenigsegg as a dominant force in the hypercar world, the Agera RS was developed as a far more advanced and focused evolution of the platform. Combining technology and lessons learned from both the track-focused One:1 and the earlier Agera models, the RS delivered significantly improved aerodynamics, power, chassis capability, and overall performance.
Unlike a standard Agera, the Agera RS introduced enhanced aerodynamic elements, advanced active aero systems, increased downforce, improved suspension calibration, lighter overall construction, and substantially greater performance capability. It effectively bridged the gap between the standard Agera and the extreme One:1 while remaining road legal and usable for real-world driving.
The result was a hypercar capable of delivering extraordinary performance without sacrificing drivability, refinement, or long-distance usability.
Koenigsegg Engineering & Performance
At the heart of the Agera RS is Koenigsegg’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 producing over 1,160 horsepower in standard specification, paired to a lightning-fast 7-speed transmission with paddle-shift functionality. In combination with Koenigsegg’s lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, the Agera RS achieves an astonishing power-to-weight ratio that places it among the most capable production vehicles ever built.
Compared to the earlier Agera models, the RS benefits from revised aerodynamic management, upgraded cooling systems, optimized airflow, and technology derived directly from the One:1 program. These enhancements allowed the Agera RS to generate significantly greater stability and confidence at extreme speeds.
The Agera RS earned global recognition after setting multiple production car performance records, including a verified average top speed of 277.9 mph, firmly cementing its place in automotive history.
Lightweight Construction & Aerodynamics
Like all Koenigsegg hypercars, the Agera RS is built around an exceptionally lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque chassis engineered for maximum rigidity and minimal weight. Extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the vehicle contributes to remarkable agility, acceleration, and responsiveness.
The RS-specific aerodynamic package features an enlarged rear wing, optimized front aero elements, active aerodynamic systems, and enhanced airflow management compared to the standard Agera. These revisions not only improved high-speed stability but also increased overall downforce and cooling efficiency during aggressive driving conditions.
