Vehicle Overview

Pagani of Nashville proudly presents this 1995 Porsche 911 Speedster remastered by Gunther Werks, one of only 25 bespoke Speedster commissions produced.

Built from a Porsche 993, the Gunther Werks Speedster combines the character and mechanical engagement of the final air-cooled 911 generation with modern engineering, extensive carbon-fiber construction and individualized craftsmanship.

Showing just 27 miles since completion, this example is further distinguished by its exclusive GWX specification, representing an elevated level of personalization within the already limited Speedster program.

Exterior & Design

The Speedster was created as the most open and immersive interpretation of the Gunther Werks naturally aspirated 993 platform.

Its distinctive profile is defined by a lower-rake windscreen, billet bullet-style mirrors and sculpted carbon-fiber tonneau covers positioned behind the cockpit. A revised ducktail spoiler and widened bodywork preserve the recognizable proportions of the original air-cooled 911 while providing a significantly more purposeful stance.

Extensive carbon-fiber construction includes the front fenders, rear quarter panels, hood, front and rear bumpers, side skirts, tonneau covers and rear ducktail. The lightweight bodywork is complemented by modern lighting and bespoke exterior detailing selected specifically for this commission.

GWX

Gunther Werks describes GWX as its experimental division and the highest expression of individualized collaboration between the company and its clients.

Rather than representing a conventional equipment package, a GWX specification allows the exterior finish, interior materials, exposed carbon-fiber treatments, component finishes and design details to be developed around an individual commission.

This example’s GWX specification further distinguishes it from the other 25 Speedsters and reflects a level of personalization intended to create a truly individual interpretation of the platform.

Interior & Craftsmanship

The cockpit combines traditional craftsmanship with lightweight, contemporary materials.

Hollow-formed carbon-fiber bucket seats anchor the interior, accompanied by carbon-fiber door panels, center-console components, interior trim and a rear-seat-delete structure. Bespoke leather and Alcantara surfaces introduce a handcrafted character while preserving the Speedster’s performance-focused environment.

Billet-aluminum components include the ignition cover, key, shifter and additional interior controls. Reworked instrumentation, lightweight carpeting and a modern electric air-conditioning system provide increased usability without compromising the analog nature of the car.

Every surface, material and finish was selected according to the original commission’s individualized specification.

Engineering & Performance

Power is provided by a Rothsport-developed 4.0-liter naturally aspirated air-cooled flat-six producing approximately 435 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque, with a redline of approximately 7,800 rpm.

The extensively developed engine incorporates billet barrels, a billet crankshaft, Mahle pistons, forged connecting rods, coil-on-plug ignition, individual throttle bodies, equal-length headers and MoTeC engine management with bespoke tuning.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a rebuilt Getrag G50 six-speed manual transmission featuring custom gear ratios, an upgraded clutch and a carbon-clutch limited-slip differential with 40-percent locking.

With a stated weight of approximately 2,590 pounds, the Speedster delivers a power-to-weight ratio of approximately 5.9 pounds per horsepower.

Chassis, Suspension & Braking

Gunther Werks extensively revised the underlying chassis to compensate for the open-top configuration while improving rigidity, balance and driver confidence.

The Speedster incorporates a widened performance-oriented chassis setup, revised suspension geometry, lightweight uprights, upgraded bushings, reinforced anti-roll bars and additional chassis stiffening. A bespoke coil-over suspension system provides greater control and precision, while a hydraulic front-axle lift assists with navigating inclines and uneven surfaces.

Upgraded Brembo brakes provide stopping performance appropriate for the Speedster’s substantially increased capability.

Wide 18-inch wheels and high-performance Continental tires place a significantly larger contact patch at each corner, contributing to the car’s increased traction, braking performance and lateral stability.

About This Example

Showing just 27 miles since completion, this Gunther Werks Speedster remains an exceptionally low-mileage example from the completed 25-car program.

Its individualized GWX specification elevates an already rare commission through bespoke materials, finishes and design details selected specifically for this vehicle.

Combining open-air engagement, extensive carbon-fiber construction, naturally aspirated air-cooled performance and a six-speed manual transmission, this Speedster offers a uniquely focused interpretation of the Porsche 993 platform.

Significance

Limited to only 25 individually commissioned examples, the Gunther Werks Speedster represents the open-top expression of the company’s original naturally aspirated program.

Each Speedster was created as a bespoke commission rather than a mass-produced model, ensuring that no two examples were specified identically. With its GWX specification and exceptionally limited mileage, this example stands among the most individualized interpretations of an already highly exclusive program.
